Moving The Rep Report to it's own server with a high bandwidth connection has certainly improved the performance of the site. There is a huge improvement in the speed with which the site handles requests even with several visitors on the front end while work on the site is going on at the back end.
As was expected, the move to the new server was not totally flawless. Some functions failed completely or suffered glitches of varying degrees of aggravation.
The Company Review function has been turned off and is undergoing a complete re-write. I cannot give you a forecast for it's return just yet. However, when it does return, it will have several enhancements that have been requested.
There was a problem with the Subscription function which I believe is fixed now. Some visitors had problems accessing their subscribed areas. If you have any problems at all, it is very important that you let me know - repairs are much quicker when you have provided your input.
The Rep Resumes did not transfer to their proper directories. None were lost - they're still there - but I am reviewing each resume and placing it in it's proper state folder. This should be completed by March 13th. I recommend that when any new resumes are uploaded, they should be titled with an identifying name. Examples would be: Smith-Texas.pdf, Platt-Alabama,pdf, Platt-Florida.pdf, Jones_F_S-Western-Minnesota.doc, etc. That makes it much easier for recruiters to pick you out of the crowd. Another reminder is that the resumes are indexed by the search engines on a regular basis so the information on your resume travels around the internet. Obviously if you do not want the publicity, do not upload a resume.
Some enhancements that you will see in the next month or so are: (1) A new RSS News Feed capability. Many recruiters today are using news feed readers rather than visiting web sites to find reps. I intend to have both reps and recruiters benefit from this. You will see new feeds for each section of The Rep Report one of which will be a direct feed of our posted opportunities to outside job sites!
I am also working on (2) some new interactive features, (3) online training and (4) rep web pages. I want to thank all of you for your participation and I hope that you will not hesitate to e-mail me with your suggestions or notices of problems. I also enjoy it when you pick up the phone and call.
